Aloha! First blog back.

Alright, so after 10 days on the beach I am back!! I missed being and hanging out on the show with you so it felt good to be back! We did a ton of stuff while I was gone. Everything from cliff diving to a Luau to hiking through the jungle, and even swimming with sharks. Here is a little video I put together from the trip. Enjoy it! There are a couple more videos on if you want to see them.

Thanks for listening!

Amazing Sponsors, Thank You!

We were blessed to have some amazing sponsors who helped make our 10th Anniversary Bash even better than we imagined! We'd like to recognize them for their generosity and great ideas!

First of all, we want to thank Roger from Ambassador Cakes & Catering for donating the awesome Power FM cakes we had available at the bash. Everyone was very impressed in the design (plus it tasted yummy too!)

Then, Mark from Kona Guitars who donated the guitar with The Afters logo on it, and was later autographed by the band and raffled off!

And last but not least, Arcanum Apparel for the fun Power FM bears and monkeys, backpacks and more... and of course the iPod touch and Nintendo DS that were also used in the raffle.

Thanks so much for helping make our party even more of a BASH!

Power FM's 10th Anniversary Bash

Wow, so much to say! Thanks to everyone that came out to celebrate our 10th year of broadcasting on Saturday at The Neotropolis in Carrollton. The party was so much fun! We had a great size crowd, awesome bands, wonderful volunteers and great time!

Pictures are trickling in, but we thought we'd go ahead and share some with you now! These were taken by the staff from the station camera or our own personal cameras...

And these were sent to us by Shane Summers Photography, he did an amazing job!

These pictures don't even scratch the surface... more to come, stay tuned!

Scott from Philmont

Scott from the band Philmont called into the ARS show on Friday. They were judging a battle of the bands contest at the Dream World Music Complex in Arlington. I played a clip of the interview during the show but hear the entire interview about 10 mins of it at my own blog.

You can find that here

Thanks to Scott for calling in and thank you so much for listening to the All Request Show weeknights on 89.7 Power FM! It def means more then you know! : )

PS. for some reason this post has all its words underlined no idea why. I guess its being moody.

On this date, August 3rd, in 1999... Power FM signed on the air! That's right, today is our official birthday. Matt Mungle rejoined Chris and Dawn this morning on The Morning Show to reminisce and play back some hilarious blasts from the past. And Jade spent the noon hour flashing back with all songs from the year 1999.

We plan to celebrate with YOU, on Saturday, August 15th at our 10th Anniversary Bash at The Neotropolis in Carrollton. They'll be something for everyone there! We're having a concert by The Afters, Radio Revival and Llymbo, plus our very own DJ Drue Mitchell will be scratchin' and spinnin' as well. Most of the staff will be on hand to hang out and meet you.

We'll also be unveiling our brand new 10th Anniversary Summer-Series T-Shirt that evening, they will be available on location as well! We're really excited about this one, and think you're gonna love it as well!

Tickets are $10... and you can come by and get them at the station, call in and have them mailed to you (we add $1 per order for shipping) or find the Powermobile out and about and pick up tickets that way. They'll also be available at the door on the day of the show.

We want to see everyone out there! More info, click here.

Tim Hawkins make us laugh!

Dawn, Flossie and I (Jade), plus our families got to enjoy the comedy of Tim Hawkins on Saturday at Trietsch Memorial UMC in Flower Mound. We are big fans. Every time he puts something new out on youtube or whatever, we all gather around the computer and watch it, then watch it over and over until everyone in the office has seen it. It's really quite ridiculous... but he's just SO funny. So, we were really excited when he was coming to town and we got to give away tickets on the air... and got some for ourselves so we could go too!

I didn't manage to get many good pictures. I couldn't hold my camera still from laughing so hard!
