Benefit Show & Drue's Going Away Party

On Saturday, we had a Power FM Benefit Concert and Drue's Going Away party at The Center in Irving. It was a blast, the crowd was fun and the bands were awesome! Thanks to Theater of the Mind (Michael Fugitt and DJ Drue Mitchell), Burning Yesterday, Luke Huch and Manic Drive for rockin' us!

Here are some pix and video from the event...

Preston sings a new hit song (too much American Idol for him!):

An awesome listener brought Drue this awesome cake:

Amazing Sponsors, Thank You!

We were blessed to have some amazing sponsors who helped make our 10th Anniversary Bash even better than we imagined! We'd like to recognize them for their generosity and great ideas!

First of all, we want to thank Roger from Ambassador Cakes & Catering for donating the awesome Power FM cakes we had available at the bash. Everyone was very impressed in the design (plus it tasted yummy too!)

Then, Mark from Kona Guitars who donated the guitar with The Afters logo on it, and was later autographed by the band and raffled off!

And last but not least, Arcanum Apparel for the fun Power FM bears and monkeys, backpacks and more... and of course the iPod touch and Nintendo DS that were also used in the raffle.

Thanks so much for helping make our party even more of a BASH!

Spring Share-A-Thon 2009

Tomorrow kicks off our Spring Share-A-Thon for 2009. Please be praying about what you can do to help keep Power FM on the air. We are a non-commercial, listener-supported station and other than a few business sponsors we have, our financial means come from YOU, the listener. So, if you haven't already, please consider enlisting in the Power Corps.

The Power Corps is a group of donors who commit to giving $20/month or a one-time gift of $240 or more. These people make up the back-bone of what it takes to financially run this station. As a Power Corps member, you know that you are helping make Power FM possible... you also get your own special section of our website with insider info, special giveaways and various other fun things. You will receive a coupon in the mail for a Power Corps shirt as well!

If you cannot commit to that amount of money, please consider giving anything you can... we need every little bit we can get to keep Power FM going as The Christian Rock Station. So please, be praying about what you can do. If you already give, thank you so much! Please contact people around you and encourage them to give. Utilize your blogs, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, text messages, emails, and word of mouth to spread the word that Power FM needs your financial assistance.

We know that this is a trying time, especially with the down economy right now, but God blesses those that give with a cheerful heart. Power FM is not just a business, not just a radio station... it's a ministry, spreading the word of Jesus through Christian rock music and messages. Our mission is to Glorify Jesus in whatever we do... and we need your help to keep doing that.

Mission Reality.TV and Alex's Lemonade Stand

What up!!! It's Adrian, I literally just got back from a really cool event in Hurst.
Power FM was apart of an event that raised money for Alex's Lemonade stand which is an organization benefiting pediatric cancer research. If you don't know what Alex's Lemonade stand is you can find out information about it online at www.alexslemonade.org/home. Mission Reality.Tv missionreality.tv was there as well filming footage of the event, which is another organization that partnered up with Alex's Lemonade Stand. It was really awesome to get to hang with a good group of people, and meet listeners as well. I hope to be able to get out more soon and if not you can always catch me at nigh on the All Request Show and let me know how you are doing! Here are some pictures from the event. Be Blessed and I will chat with you soon!

Green Lemonade!

Wanna buy a goat? I did!

In December we once again partnered with Gospel for Asia to make our listeners aware of their Christmas campaign. I am so proud of the response from Power FM listeners this year. Here are the results of Christmas gifts purchased from our listeners:

19 chickens
18 goats
14 bio sand water filters
11 child hope packets
8 sewing machines
And one generous giver gave a water buffalo

For a total of 71 gifts with a value of $4,461. I think that is what Christmas is about, sharing what God has blessed us with to share Jesus with others all around the world. Power FM listeners, YOU ROCK!

God bless and more power to you!
