The Almost at Best Buy

The other night I was in the middle of the All Request Show when Joel the Intern mentioned that The Almost updated on their twitter that they were going to be in Dallas for a in-store acoustic performance at Best Buy. I made plans the next day to attend and was one of 60 people to catch the acoustic performance before they played at the House of Blues in Dallas.

The Almost performed songs off of their sophomore album entitled Monster Monster. One of which was the single Hands which we play here on Power FM. I caught some video of it for you to watch and see. The show itself was a very cool opportunity to hang with the band and watch while they perform songs acoustic. From the video you can see that I was very close to the front. You can see more pics here.

Enjoy!

Scott from Philmont

Scott from the band Philmont called into the ARS show on Friday. They were judging a battle of the bands contest at the Dream World Music Complex in Arlington. I played a clip of the interview during the show but hear the entire interview about 10 mins of it at my own blog.

You can find that here

Thanks to Scott for calling in and thank you so much for listening to the All Request Show weeknights on 89.7 Power FM! It def means more then you know! : )

PS. for some reason this post has all its words underlined no idea why. I guess its being moody.

Big Cat Care.Org

Last Sunday I had the opportunity to go hang with a friend at Big Cat Care in Bridgeport Texas.

This is a non profit facility that houses Tigers, Lions, and any other cat that is considered endangered or exotic. I was blown away by how amazing this facility is! Not only did these cats receive top notch care but this facility is literally in our backyard. What a cool volunteer opportunity for someone who had a passion and heart to help endangered animals. The facility gives tours on the weekend and you can find more information at www.bigcatcare.org

I took the pictures below of all the animals from the facility. They had about 24 different types of cats at the facility. If you have time take a Saturday afternoon set up a tour and go check and see the positive things these people are doing!

Mission Reality.TV and Alex's Lemonade Stand

What up!!! It's Adrian, I literally just got back from a really cool event in Hurst.
Power FM was apart of an event that raised money for Alex's Lemonade stand which is an organization benefiting pediatric cancer research. If you don't know what Alex's Lemonade stand is you can find out information about it online at www.alexslemonade.org/home. Mission Reality.Tv missionreality.tv was there as well filming footage of the event, which is another organization that partnered up with Alex's Lemonade Stand. It was really awesome to get to hang with a good group of people, and meet listeners as well. I hope to be able to get out more soon and if not you can always catch me at nigh on the All Request Show and let me know how you are doing! Here are some pictures from the event. Be Blessed and I will chat with you soon!

Giving away Underoath Tickets is serious business!

I can't believe how many crazy calls I got all morning long leading up to the giveaway of the Underoath tickets. I wish I had recorded some of you people! Haha. Certainly entertained me at least! But never fear, even though two pairs have already been given away today....you do still have two chances to win left!

Keep listening! Drue will be giving away a pair around 5:15pm, then Adrian will give some away during the All Request Show around 8:15pm.

Keep up with what we're giving away and when here.

Oh, and Battleship started today on the Morning Show! A boat has already been sunk! Again, never fear...there are still 14 boats on the board! Play along!

Keep rockin' for Christ!
Jade =)
