Well, I'm certainly going to age myself with this post....
I am a child of the 70's/80's and I grew up on TV. I loved the show "Eight Is Enough"and watched it faithfully every week. I adored the Bradford family. I secretly wished the title was "Nine Is Enough" and that I was the ninth. I think I would have fit in well. I wasn't as adorable as Nicholas, but definitely cuter than Mary and much less annoying than Elizabeth. David would have been my protective older brother and Tommy (Willie Aames) would have been my cool, somewhat rebellious brother. Weird I know.... but like I said I was a TV kid. In 1981, my favorite show went off the air, but thankfully I still had Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley to keep me company. :)
The Cast of Eight Is EnoughIn 1984, Willie Aames went on to star as Buddy Limbeck in another one of my favs, "Charles in Charge" with former Happy Days star, Scott Baio. As the 80's came to a close, Willie seemed to disappear from TV. I didn't see him again until he resurfaced as Bibleman in the late 90's. I had no idea, but Willie had become a believer in 1986. He starred in the Bibleman video series until 2004.
Willie has recently written a book, Grace Is Enough, with his wife, actress Maylo (McCaslin) Upton. They were in the studio last week as part of their promo tour and I had the privilege of meeting them!! It was so cool to see the guy who was such a big part of my childhood and to hear his testimony of the Lord's goodness. Their story is truly amazing!
"Grace Is Enough is their fascinating insider story of fame and infamy, spiritual regrets and renewal, and the ultimate realization that with God all things are possible. It will appeal to and greatly inspire everyone from pop culture fans to the traditional Christian nonfiction reader." (B&H Publishing Group)
Check out the book if you get a chance.
Blessings,
Andi
